SWTX Annual Conference Story Feature: ROBBIE AUSLEY

Each day this week we will feature a story about a SWTX Conference Reconciling United Methodist to take us through Annual Conference, which begins this Thursday, June 6 in Corpus Christi, Texas.  These stories will also be featured at our SWTX Reconciling Ministries Team table.  We invite you to stop by and visit with us!

50 years, Tom Ausley, and their family including 4 children
and 10 grandchildren.

Robbie Ausley has been a long-time active member of the SWTX Reconciling Ministries Team, responsible for organizing many workshops, events and story-sharing parties.  Her warmth and passion are the heart of the Reconciling movement in our conference.  SWTX Reconciling Team member Joy Butler credits Robbie for introducing her to Reconciling Ministries.

“I remember the first time I met Robbie, and her husband Tom, at a Reconciling workshop, in January 2010.  She took so much time to help me acclimate and feel included.  Robbie shared personal stories with me then, and has since always been generous in sharing her time and talents.  She models the power of God’s generous and inclusive love, every day.”

Not only has Robbie been active on our conference Reconciling Team, she has participated fully in First UMC Austin’s Reconciling Team.  LStyle GStyle, Austin’s lifestyle magazine that profiles lesbian and gay leaders (and their straight allies), recently wrote an article about her that you can view HERE.  (be patient with the link upload, it takes a minute)
